Beetleball Support Beetles
Peel, pads, lasers, dung eating, and honey: the six live utility kits.
Supports in Beetleball exist to peel, launch, deny, and change the floor under a golden dungball. Early Access is live as of 3 Sep 2026. Blue versus red never flips. Gold is five dung levels. Community character-select videos put Bombardier, Firefly, Cyborg, and Fungus in this lane, with Potato as dung-eater utility and Bee as launch support. Ranked 3v3 wants one of these kits next to an attacker and a defender. A lobby of three peelers never finishes the merge.
Q is on-ball if you hold the dungball and off-ball if you do not. Supports press off-ball more than carries do. Firefly Kamikaze, Cyborg Zapper, Fungus pads, Potato Gun, Bee Honey Ball, and Bombardier turrets are empty-hand tools. On-ball is how you ride gold or paint it (Goop Trail, Dung Grenade, Thorax Thruster, Shroom Pogo, Get Stuffed, Honey Spray).
Peel and launch kits
Bombardier
Bombardier is Disruptor, Hard. On-ball is Goop Trail on an 8s meter with five charges. Off-ball is Goop Turret, a bomb on 35s. Passive Kiss of Goop makes a headbutt target slippery. Community movement talk calls some goop routes SE4 tech. This page does not invent extra buttons for that. You still only have Q plus the headbutt.
Play Bombardier to cut lanes and to make Ladybug and Click unhappy on the floor. Trail is a meter; feather it. Turret is the long cooldown bomb. Kiss of Goop is why you still headbutt even when Q is empty. Hard is the floor paint: bad trails help red as much as blue. If you want Easy peel instead, pick Firefly.
Firefly
Firefly is Disruptor, Easy. On-ball is Dung Grenade on 22.5s with a 3s fuse; re-activate early to pop it. Off-ball is Bug Kamikaze on 35s. There is a burning second explosion. Passive Experienced Masochist cuts stun by 25%. This is the beginner support. Kamikaze is a camera-direction dive that explodes, stuns, and drops balls. Grenade is a thrown stun you can cook.
Peel for the carry. Dive the Goliath who is winding Brace. Cook a grenade onto a Tiger who is waiting to Teleport Grab. The second explosion is why you do not stand in your own fire. Masochist lets you take the trade and still Q again. Firefly is on the beginner list because both Q modes are the same sentence: explode near the problem.
Cyborg
Cyborg is Disruptor/Defense, Medium. On-ball is Thorax Thruster: a rocket on the ball, 30s, stay attached. Off-ball is Bug Zapper on 35s, a scoped laser sniper you grab to fire, plus an electric dash. The zapper stuns fast balls. That is the Goliath pairing: laser the ball before it hits Brace, or stun the Click Skipjack that thought the box was free.
Thruster is a ride, not a throw. Stay attached or you spent 30s to donate gold. Zapper is grab-to-fire. Treat it like a sniper, not like Sonic Boom. Medium is the scope. You will miss, and a miss is a 35s hole in front of your goalie. Team comps keeps Goliath plus Cyborg as a real ranked shape, not a meme name.
Fungus
Fungus is Support/Defense/Speedster, Easy, and the kit that can play every role. On-ball is Shroom Pogo on 30s. Off-ball is Shroom Pad: max three pads, three uses each, 13s cooldown, three charges, minimum spacing, max two pads in goal. Passive Spore Sniffer buffs your headbutt after a pad. Pads are launch, not furniture. Place them for a Dung Rush, a Ladybug takeoff, or a Rhino landing, then stop cluttering the mouth.
The max-two-in-goal rule is Fungus only. Do not apply it to Earth-boring holes. Pogo is how Fungus carries without pretending to be Dung. Easy is the pad idea; the spacing rule is how you throw games. Two pads in net is coverage. A third pad in net is a wasted charge and a gift for Click pinches. Fungus is a beginner pick because you can contribute without winning a 50/50.
Potato
Potato is the dung eater. On-ball is Get Stuffed: eat up to three balls, 20s. Off-ball is Potato Gun. If you are stuffed, you spit a charged ball. If you are not stuffed, you dash-chomp, reducing ball size, 10s. Dash into uncracked gold removes one level, so gold is no longer scorable until someone merges a level back. Passive Full Belly strengthens the headbutt per stuffed ball (max 3). Headbutt cooldown drops about 0.7s per stored dung. If you get headbutted, you drop one stored dung.
Potato is utility/support, not a second Goliath and not a second Dung. Eat to hide dung. Spit to feed the carry or to clear a lane. Stay empty on defense so you keep the dash-chomp that cracks gold. The video on this page is Potato tech, not a hidden fourth ability. Q is still stuffed versus gun. Do not invent a fifth eat. Three is the cap. A stuffed Potato that walks into Rhino Big Horn donates the pantry.
Bee
Bee is Speedster/Support, Hard, Launch class. On-ball is Honey Spray / Dungy Spray on 5s: buff allies, or debuff when the spray is dung. Off-ball is Honey Ball on 25s. Honey Ball is not mergeable. Throw it at an ally for a disruption shield plus speed, or consume it for the same. Passive Double Jump works with the ball.
Bee is the other launch class next to Atlas, but the launch is honey, not horns. Hard is the 5s spray window and the ally throw. A Honey Ball is not a sixth dung level. Do not try to merge it into gold. Ranked 3v3 uses Bee as the support who speeds the carry and shields a Goliath rotate, not as a fourth attacker. If you want Easy launch, play Fungus pads.
How to pick among the six
Want floor paint and bombs? Bombardier. Want Easy stun peel? Firefly. Want a laser and a ball rocket? Cyborg. Want pads and a pogo that can fill any role? Fungus. Want eat, spit, and gold cracking? Potato. Want honey speed, a non-mergeable ball, and a double jump? Bee. First hours: Firefly or Fungus. Higher skill: Bombardier, Potato, Bee, Cyborg.
Supports still touch dung. A Firefly who never merges leaves the carry on 3-levels forever. A Potato who never spits is a walking locker. A Fungus who never pads is a Slow Dung. Do the job, then get out of the box so the defender can see.
Utility habits that actually win
Peel first, score second. Kamikaze, vacuum-adjacent goop, and Zapper exist so the attacker can spend on-ball on the net, not on a 1v2. Place Fungus pads with spacing. Keep two in goal max. Crack uncracked gold with Potato’s empty dash if red is about to score. Throw Honey Ball at an ally, not at the merge pile.
The Beetles Hub lists every class. Attacker Beetles is who you launch. Defender Beetles is who you peel for in the box. Team comps is pads plus Dung rush, Goliath plus laser, Firefly peel in front of Click. Getting Started remains the five-level gold rule if a teammate still tries to score a Honey Ball.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Beetleball players.
Who counts as a support in Beetleball?
Bombardier, Firefly, Cyborg, and Fungus, with Potato as dung-eater utility and Bee as launch support. The Beetles Hub has the full split.
Can Potato eat a golden dungball?
Get Stuffed eats up to three balls you hold. Empty Potato Gun dash-chomp into uncracked gold removes one level so it cannot score until merged again.
Is Honey Ball extra dung for a gold merge?
No. Bee's Honey Ball is not mergeable. Throw it at an ally for a disruption shield plus speed, or consume it for the same effect.
How many Fungus pads can sit in goal?
Max two pads in goal, max three pads on the map, three uses each. That cap is Fungus, not Earth-boring.
Which support should I learn first?
Firefly or Fungus. Both are Easy. Bombardier, Potato, Bee, and Cyborg ask for more timing. See beginner picks.
