Launch Classes

Steam Early Access opened on 3 September 2026 with two named new beetles: Atlas and Bee. They are the launch classes. Everything else on the 14+ roster was already public in the demo, including Longhorn from the April 2026 Longhorn update. This page is the deep kit sheet for Atlas and Bee. The rest of the roster still lives on the beetles hub, then attackers, defenders, and supports.

Matches are always blue versus red. Only a golden dungball scores, and gold is five dung levels. Q is on-ball if you hold dung and off-ball if you do not. Launch class is a tag, not a free pass around that toggle. Early Access also made classes unlockable: a fresh profile does not hand every beetle over at once. Work through play and quests. Do not assume Atlas or Bee is sitting in your picker on minute one. Feature list for that launch: Early Access launch.

Difficulty stars still matter. Ladybug, Click, Firefly, and Goliath remain the usual beginner-friendly names. Atlas and Bee are both Hard. If you want a first-hour beetle, use the beginner picks page, then come back here when Q is automatic.

Atlas — Defense / Disruptor, Hard, giant 1.4x

Atlas is the extra net threat, not a second Goliath. Size 1.4x (between Rhino 1.25x and Goliath 1.5x). Tags: Defense / Disruptor. Difficulty: Hard. Community character-select videos park Atlas with the defenders. Ranked 3v3 still wants one defender, not two statues.

On-ball — Horn Injection (37.5s). You turn the ball you hold into an ungrabbable spiky ball. Nobody yoinks it. Tiger Teleport Grab, Weevil magnet, and Potato eat bounce off that joke. Injection is stall and deny, not a better Brace for Impact. The cooldown is long. Spend it on gold that red is about to steal, not on a brown 1 you could have thrown.

Off-ball — Horn Shot (12s, three charges). Projectile poke. This is how Atlas stays in the box and still peels Ladybug out of the air. Three charges is a magazine, not a license to dump all three into a wall. Face the carry. Lead the flutter. Misses are cheap compared with Goliath’s 25s Brace, but three misses is an empty Q while gold arrives.

Passive — Recycling. Pick up fallen horns. If you never recycle, you are a 1.4x beetle with a pretty cooldown and no ammo. Walk the horns. Do not invent a magnet Atlas does not have. Horn Shot creates the pickup; Recycling is the reason the kit loops.

Play Atlas when the other color lives on grabs: Tiger, Weevil, Potato, anyone who thinks gold is a free left click. An ungrabbable spiky ball wastes those kits for the duration. Play someone else when you need a real shield (Goliath Brace), a dirt wall (Earth-boring), Easy spikes (Rhino), or magnets of your own (Weevil). Atlas does not replace the dedicated goalie job. Hang goal-side of gold, shoot horns first, inject when you already have the ball or when deny is the only play.

Hard is honest. 37.5s on Injection means a panic Q in mid donates the rest of the round. 1.4x wins contact against Ladybug 0.65x and loses the “who is the real giant” argument to Goliath 1.5x. Recycle or you will feel that size without the kit.

Bee — Speedster / Support, Hard

Bee is launch support, not a fourth attacker. Tags: Speedster / Support. Difficulty: Hard. Community videos park Bee with the supports, next to Potato as utility. Ranked 3v3 uses Bee as the beetle who speeds the carry and shields a rotate, not as a Click who found wings.

On-ball — Honey Spray / Dungy Spray (5s). Short window. Buff allies with honey. Debuff when the spray is dung. Five seconds is not Bombardier’s goop meter. Feather it on a teammate who is actually escorting gold, or paint the beetle who is about to grab. Dumping spray into empty grass is how Hard feels deserved.

Off-ball — Honey Ball (25s). Not mergeable. Throw it at an ally for a disruption shield plus speed, or consume it for the same effect. Honey Ball is not a sixth dung level. It will not finish 4+1 into gold. It will not score in the red net. If a teammate tries to merge it, you both learned the kit the expensive way. Throw at an ally. Consume if you are the one who needs the shield. Do not throw it at the merge pile.

Passive — Double Jump with the ball. Bee keeps a second jump while holding dung. That is the Speedster half. You leave the floor with gold without pretending to be Ladybug Flight. Use it to clear a lip, a cake, or a Rhino spike, then look at the red net. Double jump is not Horn Injection. You are still grabbable.

Play Bee when your lobby already has a carry and a net, and you want peel that is not Firefly explosions or Fungus pads. Honey Ball is a launch, but it is a buff launch, not a ramp. If you want Easy launch, play Fungus pads. If you want Easy stun peel, play Firefly. Bee’s skill shot is the ally throw under pressure and the 5s spray that actually hits a friend.

Hard is the window. Miss the spray, miss the throw, and you are a Speedster with a 25s hole. Ranked 3v3 with two Bees and no goalie is a highlight reel for Goliath on the other color.

Longhorn arrived in April, not on 3 September

Longhorn is the grappling-hook beetle from the April 2026 demo update. Wishlist unlock at 25k Beetle Bucks was a demo gate. It is not a launch-class headline. Tags on the attacker page: Hard Annoying / Reverser / Speedster. On-ball Dung Swinger (antenna, 12.5s, two charges). Off-ball Parasailing (25s). Passive Excited after a steal. Full carry notes: attackers.

If someone in voice says “the new beetle” on 3 September, ask which one. Atlas and Bee are the launch pair. Longhorn is the veteran who already had a hook in April. Do not skip Longhorn in the picker because this page is named Launch Classes. Do not queue Atlas as an attacker because “launch” sounds like offense.

Unlockable classes in Early Access

Launch notes listed unlockable beetle classes. The roster is not a fully open picker on a fresh profile. Play, finish the tutorial (it pays XP), run quests, and unlock as the client allows. This wiki will not invent a Bucks price, an achievement gate, or a hidden Atlas code. Overlay trophies are a different system from class unlocks.

Beginner-friendly stars still point at kits that forgive panic. Atlas horns and Bee honey are not those kits. Learn merge and net on beginner picks, then spend an unlock on the launch beetle whose job your lobby is missing: Atlas if you need deny in the box, Bee if you need support speed.

How to pick between Atlas and Bee

Need ungrabbable gold and horn poke from the net? Atlas. Need honey speed, a non-mergeable ally ball, and a double jump on the carry? Bee. Need a hook-and-reverse carry? That is Longhorn, and it is not this pair. Need a shield? Goliath. Need pads? Fungus.

Atlas belongs next to defenders. Bee belongs next to supports. Ranked 3v3 still wants one of each role. Locking Atlas and Bee together without a carry means gold never gets built. Locking Bee and Click without a net means gold never stays yours.

The beetles hub is the roster map. This page is the 3 September pair, with Longhorn named so you do not confuse April with launch. When Bugfight posts a post-launch class, it will need a new child — and as of this writing the latest Steam news is still BEETLEBALL IS OUT NOW!
