Beetleball Wiki
Class-based dung beetle soccer on Steam — Early Access as of 3 September 2026.
Beetleball is Bugfight Studio’s class-based online sports game on Steam (app 2776270). Early Access launched on 3 September 2026 for Windows, macOS, and Linux. You play a beetle on a 3D picnic of maps, merge dungballs until one turns gold, and put that golden dungball in the red net. You always play blue. Matches scale up to 6v6 with ranked, unranked, and custom lobbies, proximity voice, 14+ classes, and 8+ maps. The Steam introductory offer is $7.99. This unofficial wiki is the English map of those systems. It is not affiliated with Bugfight Studio.
If you just installed, start with getting started, then how to score and movement. Open the in-game shop and try the launch code on codes before the short window closes. Settings, voice, and PC specs live on game settings. Official store and Discord links sit on the links hub.
How a match is actually won
Beetleball is not one-ball soccer on a flat pitch. Several dungballs sit on the field at once. Scoring a normal ball does nothing. Teams fight over rabbits and loose dung, smash balls together through five size steps, and only a level-5 golden dungball counts when it crosses the red line. Overmerging can explode a pile and reset work, so the last touch on gold is a timing problem as much as a mechanical one. Goalies, usually a Goliath or another defender, live on that red net. The scoring guide covers merge order, shot angles, and why throwing a small ball at a gold pile can be the wrong kind of help.
Movement is momentum-based. Hold sprint, jump, flutter, then tap jump in the air to glide. Headbutts, delayed grabs, and on-ball speed let you steal or escort gold across cakes, dandelions, and sandcastles. The movement guide is the drill page; controls is the bind page. Turn on always sprint in accessibility if holding Shift is wasting your left hand — that toggle is documented with colourblind mode and distance blur on settings.
Classes, roles, and why the roster is split
Each beetle has an off-ball ability and an on-ball ability, both typically on the same key, plus passives that shipped with the Early Access rework. The Steam page and press kit highlight Tiger (ball-to-ball teleport), Fungus (mushroom launchpads), and Cyborg (laser that can pick Ladybugs out of the air). Community role splits that match the class select tags:
- Attackers: Ladybug, Click, Dung, Tiger — chase and finish gold. See attackers.
- Defenders: Goliath, Earthboring, Rhino, Weevil — space, parry, and net. See defenders.
- Supports: Bombardier, Firefly, Cyborg, Fungus — stun, peel, and enable. See supports.
Launch added Atlas Beetle and Bee Beetle. Demo patches already added Longhorn (grappling hook). Not every class is free on a new account; Early Access unlocked classes through play, quests, and related goals. Difficulty stars in class select mark beginner-friendly beetles — Ladybug, Click, Firefly, and Goliath are the usual first four. The full beetle roster is the index. Strength snapshots live on the tier list, beginner tier list, and team comps. Those lists will move as Bugfight reworks beetles; treat them as launch-week reads, not a frozen meta.
Maps and queues
Maps are vertical picnic dioramas, not FIFA rectangles. Beach sandcastles, Egypt pyramids, the Snowman competitive arena from Next Fest, and the launch Museum are the named layouts players talk about. Custom lobbies still expose experimental Lab maps for layout tests. Glide lines, cake rolls, and off-stage headbutts matter more than a centre circle. The maps guide is the callout sheet.
Queue ranked or unranked, open a custom lobby, or use launch quick play and alternate modes. Demo events tested a 1v1 ranked limited-time mode and a 5v5 Steam PvP Fest (bandana for top 1000, boxing gloves for top 100). Ranked still pays extra Beetle Bucks (a 1.5x currency bump was added in demo to offset queue time). Read ranked before you treat every loss as a class problem — spacing and gold discipline beat a solo highlight reel.
The guides hub is the parent for all of the how-to pages above.
Cosmetics, quests, and the only launch code
Playing grants XP, levels, and Beetle Bucks. Bucks buy Beetle Eggs in the shop. Eggs roll Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, or Mythical cosmetics: hats, wing trails, emotes, stickers, skins (including iridescent mythical paints), and goal effects. Hat slots and unlockable profile pictures shipped on 3 September. Quests give structured reasons to rotate classes. Cosmetics stay earnable by playing; Bugfight’s launch notes still describe the shop as free in that sense. Optional DLC exists as The Beetle Billionaire’s Deluxe Golden Scarab Supporter Pack — cosmetics around a supporter identity, not a stronger beetle. Full shop language is on the shop hub.
The only confirmed promo string is ILOVEBEETLEBALL, typed in the in-game shop. Launch Steam news promised 10 beetle eggs for 48 hours after release, so the honest window is 3–5 September 2026. Today is inside that window if you are reading on 4 September; if the shop rejects the string, it expired. This wiki will not invent extra codes. See codes.
Patch context and official channels
The public demo closed 31 August 2026 at 9pm PDT. Next Fest and later demo patches stacked eggs, Snowman, 80 hats, a rainbow mustache, force-start, 75% ready, and Lab maps. Early Access on 3 September added Atlas, Bee, Museum, passives, quests, proximity voice, and the shop/egg loop on the paid build. The recap is Early Access launch; the index is updates.
Use official links for Steam, beetleballgame.com, Discord, Reddit, YouTube, and the press kit. Report bugs in Discord, not in a wiki comment. Early Access means class numbers, map count, and shop odds can shift. This page is the table of contents — jump to a hub instead of rereading the same overview after every queue.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Beetleball players.
Is Beetleball out, and on which platforms?
Yes. Steam Early Access launched on 3 September 2026 for Windows, macOS, and Linux (app 2776270). Bugfight Studio is the developer and publisher. It is not a Roblox game.
How do you score in Beetleball?
Merge dungballs to level 5 so they become a golden dungball, then put that gold in the red net. Ordinary balls do not count. You always play blue. Details are in how to score.
Where should a new player start on this wiki?
Read getting started, then controls, movement, and the beetle roster. Try the shop code on codes if the launch window is still open.
Is this an official Bugfight Studio wiki?
No. This is a fan-made English resource. Confirm patches, codes, and class changes on Steam news and the official Discord listed on links.
