Beetleball Guides Hub
First hour, scoring, movement, maps, and ranked 3v3 in one place.
Beetleball is live in Steam Early Access: class-based online PvP dung beetle soccer from Bugfight Studio (app 2776270). You always play BLUE versus the RED net, you only score with a golden dungball, and the pitch is a 3D picnic rather than a flat rectangle. This hub is the English map of every how-to on the wiki. Start with Getting Started if you have not finished the tutorial, then branch into the mechanic pages instead of queueing ranked on muscle memory from other sports games.
The pages below are written as full articles, not checklists. Each one assumes the same live rules: Early Access as of 3 September 2026, Windows / macOS / Linux, up to 6v6, ranked plus unranked plus custom lobbies, proximity voice, and no Roblox layer. If a Steam news post or in-client patch note disagrees with a sentence here, trust the client.
First hour and inputs
New players lose games because they treat Beetleball like a one-ball soccer clone. It is not. A rabbit lays dung, you merge levels, and only gold counts. Before you worry about hats or beetle eggs, finish the tutorial (it pays XP), turn on always-sprint if it is not already on, and play a custom lobby with friends or bots-of-the-mind until grabbing a ball does not feel like a coin flip.
- Getting Started — tutorial XP, blue versus red, Ladybug / Firefly / Goliath / Click, and why you should not fire gold straight into a planted goalie.
- Controls — full keyboard table, camera aim for headbutt and throw, controller support without a ball-cam, always-sprint, colourblind mode, team outlines, and distance blur.
Read those two before you touch ranked. The input page also covers the one-second grab window, which is the hidden rule behind almost every clip you will see in Discord.
Scoring, movement, and maps
Scoring is a merge puzzle wrapped in a physics fight. Movement is how you arrive at the merge with speed left over. Maps are why a good line on Picnic is a throwaway line on Egypt.
- How to Score — gold = five dung levels, rabbit spawn timing, overmerge explosions, beating the goalie first, and Potato chomping gold down a level.
- Movement Tech — sprint, flutter, glide (look down for speed), wall and ceiling walking, headbutt grab, momentum transfer, plus Dung flutter dash / dung rush, Goliath dolphin dive / ground pound, Ladybug meter fly, Bombardier SE4, and Click launch.
- Competitive Maps — Picnic rollouts, Beach tunnels, Egypt pyramid bounce, Crater, Snowman, Gamba, Museum as a launch map, Beetlekitty’s Play Pen (often out of the pool), and lab maps in custom.
Use the map page together with movement. A rollout is just movement aimed at a spawn. A pyramid bounce is just a throw plus a headbutt grab with Egypt’s geometry doing the lift.
Ranked and the rest of the wiki
Ranked Matchmaking covers live 3v3 ranked, the 1v1 ranked limited-time mode from the demo, 5v5 ranked during Steam PvP Fest, attacker / defender / support jobs, queue versus custom, and the 1.5x ranked XP and currency note from patch notes. Custom Lobbies is the gym: 2v2, 3v3, and 6v6, 75% ready, host force start, lab maps, and the queue-join screen that stays separate from dedicated rooms. Launch Review is the first-week buyer’s read — Steam Very Positive (95% of 93 as of this check) and the $7.99 intro. For beetle kits and comps, leave this hub:
- Players Hub — roster, roles, and who to unlock first.
- Tier List Hub — current-meta reads; ranked links team comps when you start locking a 3v3.
- Codes Hub — shop codes when a drop is live. This wiki does not invent codes.
- Updates Hub — patch notes, LTMs, and ranked reward changes.
If you only have an evening, the honest order is getting started → how to score → movement → one custom lobby on Picnic → then ranked. Skipping movement is how you donate gold to a Goliath who never left the net.
How these guides are written
Every article here is English-first, with locale-agnostic links such as /guides/maps/, and built around live Early Access play. We do not mark the game as unreleased. We do not pad word count with the same closing sermon on every page. When a class tech is named (SE4, dung rush, dolphin dive), it is a tech players actually use, not a fabricated cooldown table.
Come back when a patch changes grab windows, ranked gates, or the map pool. The Updates Hub is the changelog; this hub is the curriculum.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Beetleball players.
Which Beetleball guide should I read first?
Start with Getting Started for the first hour, then How to Score so you stop throwing ungilded dung at the red net.
Is Beetleball still in Early Access?
Yes. Steam Early Access launched on 3 September 2026. These guides describe the live game, not a wishlist build.
Do I need ranked before I learn movement?
No. Drill movement tech in a custom lobby, then queue 3v3. Ranked is a worse classroom than Picnic with friends.
Where are class kits and tier lists?
Kits live on the Players Hub. Rankings live on the Tier List Hub. This hub stays on how-to play, not who is S-tier this week.
Are these pages for the Roblox beetle game?
No. Beetleball is a Steam title by Bugfight Studio. There is no Roblox client, and ranked here is Steam matchmaking.
Where do custom lobbies and the launch review live?
Lobby rules, formats, and queue-join sit on Custom Lobbies. The first-week buyer's read is the launch review.
